Radio Atlantis - South Africa
This community based radio station has an objective of responding to the needs of the community through seven points of focus, including health, crime, education and human rights. The station airs locally produced and externally produced programmes directed to various groups in the community dependent upon the time slot. Housewives in the morning, senior citizens through the day, and teens at night.
Communication Strategies
The station broadcasts 18 hours a day, Sunday to Thursday, and 24 hours a day on Fridays and Saturdays. Many live health programmes based on research. HIV/AIDS documentaries, hospital slots to look at emergency wards. Talk shows, health care professionals and visitor interviews, and Wola Nani's "Positive Nation".

Listenership is set at 100,000 people. Health programming includes "Morning Mood" for housewives and senior citizens, a health focus in other programming, including a teen programme produced and presented by teens, "Mixed Masala" a strongly health focussed senior citizen programme and "Heartbeat", a talk show dealing with health issues.
