Study about entertainment-education
Dr. Amy Henderson Riley (Thomas Jefferson University) and Dr. Joyee Chatterjee (Asian Institute of Technology) are conducting a research study about entertainment-education (EE) pedagogy. The study aims to understand how EE is currently taught in educational institutions around the world. The first phase seeks to create and examine a repository of syllabi from global post-secondary education courses (undergraduate or graduate; in-person or online; public health, communication, or other schools, etc.) where EE is included in the didactic content of the course. This can be for a course that is fully devoted to EE (i.e., a seminar-style course) or a course where EE is taught in one week or one lecture (e.g., an MPH health communication course or a communication course on persuasion).
If you have a course that meets the inclusion criteria for this study, and you are interested in participating, please share a PDF, Word, or other electronic file of any course you have taught in the last 10 years (delivered in person or online since 2011) that covers entertainment-education. If you have taught a course over many years, the researchers kindly request the most recent version used in your class.
Please send your syllabi and any questions to Dr. Riley at amy.riley@jefferson.edu by June 30, 2021.
The study will maintain confidentiality and the syllabus/information will only be used for the purpose of our research paper, looking at themes and patterns at the aggregate.
Thank you in advance for your interest and participation.
