Pan African Rinderpest Campaign (PARC) Campaign Communication Guide
SummaryText
Rinderpest continues to kill cattle across Africa ruining the livelihoods of innumerable cattleowners, undermining livestock production, and hampering the growth of national economies, particularly those reliant on animal exports. Many countries may be free of rinderpest, but the disease can spread quickly and can threatens every country in the sub-Saharan region.
Pan African Rinderpest Campaign (PARC) Campaign Communication Guide seeks to eradicate the disease from Africa. The campaign promotes community participation in livestock development programmes, liberalisation of livestock policies, decentralisation of livestock services and protection of pastures against the danger of overgrazing and the encroaching desert.
This guide is aimed at national governments and their livestock services who are responsible for implementing the national PARC campaign.
