Marcio's Story (Video)

"In a society where manhood and caring are usually not discussed in the same breath, we need to encourage and support fathers to play an active and supportive role in the lives of their children."

The MenCare Campaign presents "Marcio's Story", a 6:06 minute-long video presentation of "how fatherhood plays an integral role in men's lives." Marcio, a man living in Brazil, narrates in first person the importance of supporting men's involvement in the lives of their family, even if it goes against traditional expectations of how men are supposed to act. The film was created by Nathan Golon.

MenCare - A Global Fatherhood Campaign - is coordinated by Promundo, Sonke, and the MenEngage Alliance, as an effort to promote men’s involvement as fathers and as caregivers. It seeks to provide support materials, messages, policy recommendations, and research to encourage local MenEngage partners, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), women’s rights organisations, governments, and United Nations (UN) partners to implement campaign activities in their settings.
