Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at lainiciativadecomunicacion.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Ending Corruption: Honesty Instituted

The Changemakers collaborative competition "Ending Corruption: Honesty Instituted" is seeking innovative strategies to curb the impact of corruption. Organisations of all types with existing anti-corruption projects are invited to describe their projects and demonstrated impact, even small scale. Judges are looking for innovation, social impact, and sustainability.

All entries are posted for online discussion, and all comments, questions, and insights about entries are posted, giving entrants access to new ideas about their project, as well as the possibility of updating their entry until May 16. Judges will post the top 10 - 12 entries for online voting by June 6 with winners announced on June 21 2007.

Early entry winners receive free featured advertising in a well established journal or magazine. Top three winners from the online voting receive US$5,000 each.
