The Drum Beat 102 - Critical Voices
CRITICAL VOICES are essential to effective international development. Continuing the centenary series of 4 Drum Beats we wish to focus on those Voices. Of course, critical has several meanings - most often 'crucial' or 'criticising'. We use the word with both of these meanings in mind. The most important critical voices are from those who are most affected by an issue: people living with HIV/AIDS, children on children's rights, the poor on poverty, and many others. Other critical voices are from those at the front-line of the development action. In our field, those engaged in communication for change initiatives. Their perspectives and insights are vital to development thinking, strategies and funding decisions. Drawing from recent subscribers to The Drum Beat, and representative of everyone's actions, here are 22 critical voices. Contact them to obtain their perspectives.
