International Green Pen Awards
The International Green Pen Award is presented each year at the Asia-Pacific Forum of Environmental Journalists (APFEJ) Annual World Congress to environmental journalists who have made a significant contribution in promoting environmental journalism.
The awards are open to all full-time or freelance journalists in the world working on the environment in all forms of media, in government agencies, and in private, United Nations, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). It is aimed to recognise the leadership of individuals in the field of environmental journalism - people who help, inspire, and support others in the field.
Entry fees apply for developing country citizens (US$100); for all others the fee is US$200 per each entry. No entry fees are required for APFEJ national chapters members.
Entries (including photocopies) must be submitted by surface mail to Dharman Wickremaratne, Director, APFEJ, at the address in the contact information below.
They must include:
- Name of Candidate
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Nationality
- Organisation
- Designation
- Complete address
- E-mail
- Web
- Cell phone
- Fax
- Brief particulars of the candidate, including a short description of significant contributions in promoting environmental journalism and their impact (max. 1,000 words)
- Reasons why the candidate merits the Award (max. 300 words)
- Three references and their address/telephone/fax/e-mail
- Nomination submitted by (name, address, telephone, fax, e-mail)
- Place/Date
