Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Reaching Youth Worldwide

SummaryText
The Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP) and its primary project Population Communication Services (JHU/PCS) worked with partners in more than 25 countries on strategic communication programmes comprising a variety of interventions designed to reach different segments of the youth population with different needs. Included in this working paper are six approaches that JHU/PCS used to help young people make decisions that positively affect their health and welfare. The projects selected occurred from 1995-2000. The paper includes experiences from Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Nicaragua and Perú and discusses a set of lessons learned on how to effectively reach young people.

Could not access any of the links. Because I work with youth both in Canada and several developing countries, I thought the paper on "Reaching Youth Worldwide" would be of special interest to me. Hope you can give some explanation.
