Music Against Poverty Contest
The European Commission has launched the Music Against Poverty Contest, which calls young Europeans between ages 15 and 25 to submit a song expressing support for the fight against poverty in the world. Each participant will create an original song on the general issue of development, and notably on the eight Millennium Development Goals. The winners - selected through online voting and a jury of music professionals - will be awarded a professional studio recording of their song and will have the opportunity to perform during the European Development Days in December 2010 in Brussels, Belgium. The music contest is part of the "I fight poverty campaign", dedicated to raise awareness among teenagers about the European Union's action in the field of development cooperation.
Each song entered has to:
- be about the fight against poverty worldwide or development cooperation;
- last a maximum of 5 minutes; and
- be submitted before the deadline date.
Each entrant will have a personal web page to advertise his/her song and explain why s/he wants to join the fight against poverty.
To apply:
- Submit personal information
- Tell about his/her commitment to fighting poverty worldwide
- Provide information about his/her song
- Send the link to the song (video or audio)
- Read and accept the terms and conditions
