Coordinators' Notebook: An International Resource on Early Childhood Care and Development
SummaryText
Published twice annually since 1985 by the Consultative Group on Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD Group), the "Coordinators' Notebook" provides a synthesis of the most recent information on topics of interest to people concerned about the well-being of young children and their families.
The Notebook includes a focused, issue-based article, identified through feedback from partners and/or emerging gaps and priorities in the field. Each Notebook has a main article with related case studies, which draw upon experiences from around the world as well as news from the CG networks, new resources, and upcoming conferences.
Past article topics include "HIV/AIDS and Early Childhood", "Early Infant Development and Feeding", "Childrearing Practices" and "Men in the Lives of Children" to name a few.
UNESCO translates selected main articles and case studies into French to widen the reach, especially within West Africa. Plans are also underway to translate the Notebook into Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin Chinese.
